but most of the boxes are win 2000. On many 2000 Boxes there is a kill.exe in system32 folder have a look *g*. But I don`t know a way to kill a process only the way of killing services by net stop .....

Maybe to use on win 2k same commands .....
Never tried it on win 2k only on win XP with taskkill
1. kill /f /im appname.exe
2. kill /f /pid appid

again there is no buildin function for windows 2000 and nt or do you think microsoft offers tools and vbs scripts for download if it where builtin? nopeMaybe to use on win 2k same commands .....
