Is this just a general poll you need for some work @school, or would you like to be more specific about what kind of exploits those are supposed to be? Some might be used either way tho...

***Modify the source code of vi or pico..... When you issue the new ":compile" command in vi, it will spawn a gcc process in the background and compile the C/C++ file you are coding.***
It depends on what language your exploit is written in. C/C++, Java, Perl, Bash, Python Assembler??
Some languages are interpreted, for example Bash and Perl, and as such do not require compilation.

pico and vi are text editors, this is where we write our codes. may it be of any language: ada, asm, c, perl etc. when we compile, we will need a compiler or interpreter. languages are compiled or interpreted before they will be executed by our machine. perl is also processed, you cannot run perl if you havent installed perl. in windows, i use active perl and borland c++ as compilerfor my c/c++ with a textpad editor. in linux, this compilers are usually defaultly installed under development tools.

Sorry, no hard feelings but "compile with pico" made me laugh

Hmm, no, you cannot compile a program with vi.
Hexboy, I found it quite humerous also, but there's another side to it also: the people asking that question are the people attempting to run exploits. People who don't even know how to compile an exploit without help shouldn't even be trying to use them, let alone attempt ANY sort of hacking.
