This is a privately run server. You are allowed to post here and you should realize that the privilege to post here could be revoked at any time. Especially if you post material that could land ComSec into jail. I hardly think that is "censorship" as much as being smart to do a CYA.

ComSec, you should consider what sort of statement you are making to the forum community here, where you practice arbitrary censorship and egomaniacal powertripping at others expense. Shouldn't this be a forum BY AND FOR the members?

If you censor and persecute members, you will lose good people and end up with less contributors.

What? is ComSec going around and chasing him? He censored what was hugely risky and applied appropriate discipline. I hardly think it was egotistical. From the sounds of the seriousness of the offense, we're lucky that this site is still up. I have a feeling there would have been a lot more removed than an account.

While it's a nice idea to have this "by and for the members" (sounds like the US Constitution -- by and for the people), the reality is that ComSec is on the hook for this. As a mod on another security site, I know the position he's in. And it's not a pleasant one.

So suck it up and deal with it.

i don't see how they would lose members over it... the person hacked the board (i'm guessing...) and that's a C-R-I-M-E... just like any other crime, there's some punishment... wow, sounds like a justice system eh?

That's what happens when you try to help or post useful information. but people have to learn that they shouldn't answer on "how do I hack this or that" topics. or on "I tried to hack this but I get this" topics...
I see lots of this posts lately but reporting them has not done nothing.
I know you are pissed off about what has happened lately and that all this sh*t costs you alot of time.

What I would say by looking at some threads is you need more moderators. Or more mods from different time zones... since everyone seems already busy to clear up the mess other members cause.
You are doing a good job, but since that many new members have come and many of them don't respect the rules...you should consider beeing more strict with deleting accounts or giving warning points.
I hope you are still looking for good solutions and haven't given up already. It would be a shame since we all love you
