I swear I've been google'ing for the entire evening and haven't been able to find information on the Series/Grade :/
Hoping someone can either point me to a online doc, or would be kind enough to explain how to read these "Series/Grade" codes.
I understand that years of education will determine the pay scale, and I located this Wiki but I still can't correlate it to the job postings:
http://en.wikipedia....vice_pay_scale) - this has a chart with GS 1-15 and then steps 1-10.
But for example, some DHS job postings I've found look like this:
Title: Information Technology Specialist (Information Security) – Direct-Hire Authority
Series/Grade: GS-2210-09/15
Title: Information Technology Specialist
Series/Grade: GS-2210-09/11
Title: Information Technology Specialist
Series/Grade: GS-2210-07
Title: Information Technology Specialist
Series/Grade: GS-2210-09/12
So for the first one as an example, "GS-2210-09/15", what does the GS-2210 part represent, and what does the 9/15 represent?
Also, does anyone know if IT certifications count in any way as education? I didn't take classroom training I self-studied for all my certifications. I found something that indicated classroom hours could be counted but that wouldn't apply to me.
Thanks in advance.
