Hello everyone ! ![]()
I have a huge problem. I want to set a reverse connection from internet but my ISP use router (or nat i don't know exactly).
I know that it's possible to reverse connection by configuring router and set a port forwarding , but the problem is that , my isp is my university , i'm just a little student , so it's difficult for them to let me do something with "their" network, by using their router.
Is there a possibility to anyway accomplish a reverse connection ? I just want to make a kind of little server, and allow other people to connect to my computer trhough ssh too.
Thanks a lot for helping
A detail : before i have a connection , i have to connect to my university's vpn. So i use the ppp0 interface for connection (i saw it by using netstat).

Second, the setup you mention is not really very clear to me, adding the fact that you connect through a vpn is not a small detail > it complicates things a lot..
You also have not mentioned what kind of connection you are trying to accomplish: vnc, telnet, ssh, rdp?
Most software like for example teamviewer solves situations like this by letting both clients (behind Nat/Router/fw) connect to a public server and routing the connections through there.
Have you tried using this and check routes?

Yah you do.Hello everyone !

You want to allow someone else to be able to connect to your system which is internal to the school's network. Naughty, Naughty.
Your 'want' could put the entire school at risk.
All in all... I'm not likely to help you put a school at risk.Is there a possibility to anyway accomplish a reverse connection ? I just want to make a kind of little server, and allow other people to connect to my computer trhough ssh too.
Thanks a lot for helping

But if you said that it might have a risk , I 'll let it down. Anyway if it's possible , I really need it . Free website hosting isn't enough for me to apply such things that I learn (like webmastering, or how to master a server) , and I don't have enough money to rent a server , where I can install and do what I want. That's why I insist for this. (ps : I live in the campus of university , that's why I have no other choice than try to bypass this problem)
