I am trying to refresh my old programming skill, it's been a couple of years. I want to try and make an app to log the songs I play on my music player app (Cog). I want my app running in the background, and when I click Play in the music player app, a signal is sent to my app which logs the song title.
First of all: Is this even possible? If yes, is API hooking the correct term? I believe thats what it's called in Windows, but now I'm running Mac OS X. Is it the same?
Any input would be greatly appretiated!
