After 8 years of working on I am stepping down as the owner of the site. Stephen will now be the owner and primary maintainer. I will of course be still active, but no longer in the same capacity. It has been a great ride, and I am very proud of what GSO has become. It couldn't have made it for this long without the great work of the other admins as well as the user group as a whole.

Before any rumors are started I am stepping down just because the priorities of my life have change. When I first started this site, I was a bachelor and still in the military, fast forward almost 8 years, and I am married with 3 kids and no longer working directly in the security industry. I can no longer dedicate the time and energy to keep GSO running at full speed. Stephen has been working with me very closely for many years and I am confident he will take this site to the next level.

The rest of the Staff fully support this notion and will continue to (dis)function as normal :)
Blake will remain in the staff group but won't be that active anymore. Please don't PM him anymore for administrative related content.
For site related inquiries please PM Stephen.
For accounts related issues and other (urgent) matters please Jeremy, Stephen or me.
For thread related issues (such as flaming, inappropriate content, etc) PM one of the moderators or flag the post. It will be dealt with as swift as possible

We wish Blake the best and hope he pops in now and then.

You have done a great job creating and maintaining GSO. This site have been in my daily visiting list since my subscription 5 years ago. I wish you good luck Blake.
BTW I like the new first page design ;p
And keep up the good work you've done, staff members.

things change with time, but what matters is that Blake started a great community which thanks to him, his staff and the members it ended up in a successfull and still an active community.

GSO helped me a lot with its resources and I am sure it helped other members too.

so thank u very much buddy, and I am happy you will still be able to come here sometimes. :) - Secumania security blog.

Thanks for all your efforts here Blake!

I admire what you did with this place, and I've learned a lot here.

Many, many thanks for what you've created here. I remember stumbling across this site years ago, when it still had restricted registration. I have learned quite a bit through this site, both directly and indirectly. I completely understand your reasons for leaving, and it makes perfect sense you'd like to spend more time on other, more important pursuits (family being an obvious one), but nonetheless it is still a bit bittersweet to see you go. I wish you all the best with your life, and with your family.

A you can see...both Me and Blake have now retired officially from the forums as Admins....

again i would just like to add a few words:

I would like to say GSO HAS been many years in its creating...when i first joined after meeting Blake at another forum we had 25 members and set about creating much of what you see today

like Blake a lot has happened over the past few years and i retired once before in the past only to rejoin.. but life moves on...

my heart is not in it these thing is for sure you our members have been fantastic in supporting and making GSO as a top class forum past and present.

i wish Stephen all the best and i will support him if needed any way i can

BUT most of all i would like to Thank all the members and Mod team for many years of support and sometimes Grief lol

Cheers guys

Virtual Beers are on me ;)
