how to know if my computer was turned on?

Posted 22 May 2009 - 05:37 AM there anyway to know if my computer was turned on? i have a bios password, so they couldnt make it to windows.
2.would event viewer record the event or does it work only after windows starts?

A BIOS password wouldn't prevent booting to Windows. Set up a Group Policy Object to log all logins (fail/success) then later on you can see what time every user was on your box (or not). MMC snap-ins can be accessed remotely in case you don't have direct physical access to the system.

you could also try installing sysmon and regmon on autostart and monitor files or activity done during this usage period

encrypt you HD if you dont want them snooping in your files.. or put a CCTV infront of your pc so you'll when/who turned it on.LOL

Enter the Num Lock button in keyword if the light glow computer is running.
