Okay, so this is just a banner grabber written in perl so far. It has been tested again http, https, and ftp so far. If you test it against anything else with success, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

If you have any suggestions or functionality additions you would like me to consider, please let me know and I will consider it.

#!/usr/bin/perl

use LWP;

print "Please choose URL to check (ie. https://www.domain.com):  ";

$url = <>;
chomp $url;

$browser = LWP::UserAgent ->new();
$response = $browser->get("$url");
print $response->header("Server"), "\n";

A "http banner grabber" would be a rather suitable title, as that is what you have used.

Good point. Can you change the subject line?
