I've made a simple stack overflow and I'm trying to exploit it to display a message using the MessageBoxA function located in user32
but when the shellcode execute .. it brings empty window like this one



I'm using Dev C++

Hey,

Well I am not a Master in Shellcoding.
But I know some Unix things.

I cant try since I dont have windows here but try the following change:
MOV ECX,23FED1
xor eax, eax #PUSH 0
push eax
PUSH ECX
PUSH ECX
xor eax, eax #PUSH 0
push eax
CALL DWORD PTR DS:[405140]
BOF

Also run olly when you try to exploit. It will help a lot.
Next from that I'd advice to start coding Shellcodes etc in Linux. And DONT use Vista since of its StackProtection ( Though I havn't checked that out yet )

But as I said, Shellcodes isnt really my piece of pie (I am more of the Spoofing, Sniffing and RCEing) but it might help
