I understand your opinion in that regard meathive. But the only way tofugure out what new mediums our community would like to participate in is to give them a try. If it doesn't work then no harm no foul.

just a bit off topic but, I always views communication mediums like forums and twitter to just be the modern day equivelants of news groups and mailing lists.

Yeah i agree. We are all involved in someway modern technologies and have always had to grow with rapid changing trends. This is just another example of that. In which if you don't go along with, you end up being left behind and potentially missing out on what may be on offer.

Haha i just came across this on Digg regarding an interactive twitter thing NYTimes did during the Super Bowl. It is awesome. My favorite is the 'chatter' with the text 'GO'. http://www.nytimes.c...wl_twitter.html

I also think people need to remember the goal of twitter for GSO. Twitter is mainly designed for mobile devices. Our twitter feed is going to be a bit like the open topic section. Place where GSO people can talk back and forth. I know I probably surf the forum the most on my iphone, so using twitter will be an easy way to talk to forum members when I am on my Iphone.
