if police knocked on my door, I would invite him/them to come inside and ask if they would like to see my brand new computer, then invite the dude(s) to take a cup of coffee with a strong laxative...(my coffee is just awesome they wouldnt refuse to drink it). while they played with my computer and started getting frustrated for not finding anything, they would drink the coffee and tell me.: "oh u make such a good coffee...can I have 1 more cup, please?" I would promptly say sure and give him/them some more coffee :D

soon he(they) probably would be frustrated enough and would give up...not much later he/they would surely need the bathroom and with a bit of luck it wouldnt be mine.;)

honestly, always it is better not to have any reason for a police coming to your place

I once saw in a thebroken video where they rigged up a HDD with thermite and wired up a switch to the outside of the computer. If anything went wrong all you would have to do is press that switch and you harddrive became soup. It's probably not the safest thing, but it would definitely get the job done right the first time.

How about you just say hi and invite them in? 90% of the illegal things people do would never make it to trial.

True story.. My house WAS raided.

Another true story.. I didn't get in trouble for anything.

Granted, when I was raided I lived in a small town and probably the police couldn't do much.. I will say waking up to the beat of the door isn't fun.

the first thing I Thought was o shit..

Heres what I specifically did, not sure if this helped at all.. or maybe they had a weak case.. or didn't care too much..

#1 destroyed all ide and power connecting pins on harddrive
#2 destroyed ram (snapped in half)

this was back in the 90s though.. who knows. they tried to say that I was "destroying evidence" while they were banging on the door.. I just said nope I was asleep sorry didn't get home till 3am.

I really doubt what I did would work.. I am sure they can still pull the data off the HD.. maybe they just chose not to

who knows.

The TRUE and funny story is, I had a disk in my cd player (home stereo) that they had opened, with a filled CD of what they were lookin for.. somehow they skipped over that disk but took EVERY BLANK DISK I HAD..

thank god.
