Need some help from all you experts out there. My email account has been hacked and all my emails are being read
Not only that,
- All my credit card transactions are being monitored by this person as this person seems to know how to obtain my passwords
- The person seems to know what sort of things I am doing on my computer e.g. when I am running Yahoo messenger
How did this person do it? The thing is, I know who has done this, and I want to track and hunt down this person so I can catch this person red handed. Any suggestions?
Any help much appreciated

There been lots of methods to hack a system to steal information.. But let's check from the basics..
From your mail its indicates that someone had installed an Keylogger or trojan in your system or laptop. try to remove the installed component from your system then problem will be solved.
To remove you need to check the suspicious process running in your system. (Process explorer) tool is to check all the current running process and it will also give the location information of the file.
Later check each process file "Description and Company name... if you find any unknown file and no information, find the location of that file. Before remover first kill process for process explorer too and then remove it from hard drive.

Hi XSY,
I have a mac so how do I check what processes are running so I can halt the appropriate one? I don't want to kill the incorrect one sending my puter into a spin.
Finally, if I know who is doing this what is the best way to track and nab the culprit?
Thanks,
V

Hi V,
Use "Active Monitor" which locates at Utilites in MacOS X to kill suspicious process. U can use "Net Montor - 4.3.14" version software to monitor the Network or internet traffic on your system...

By the way, when I run net monitor, what should I be looking for? Will the hackers IP be captured?

if you are reading/posting to this forum with the same infected computer.
they may be watching and will know what you are going to try before you try it.

I recommend using WPA with a decent length password and mac address filtering, as wep is crackable within minutes.

First off, disconnect that computer from the net.
Second, call all your credit card companies and let them know that you may be the victim of identity theft.
Third, go to a different computer, one that you know isnt compromised, and change all your passwords.
Lastly, try to find out how your information was being stolen and clear it up.

the hacker can use a keylogger that sends certain passwords to an ftp server so he doesn't have to interact with you directly thus wont get his IP.
I've tried this myself , it evades firewalls and can't be detected by AVs.
