Maybe this is a general symptom of the security community now - as in it's more about profit and money than sharing - so if you develop something new, you tend to keep it private.
Either way something needs to be done here, or the site will continue to slide.

i agree tibbar...several noted places are going through a bad patch...and their doors are open all the time... we are closed most of the year...but at Present our doors are open again and will remain open till we feel the need to close...many new security forums have sprouted over the past few years...many of us now are spoilt for choice there are so many about.

hmmmmmmmm tell me what kind of stuff you think it would be good for the forums as in programs, exploits and tutorials?
I have posted a few tutorials in the last days plus an article at Windows section, some of them written by myself. Now I am currently writing an article on Windows/Internet Explorer security zones and will explain in a detailed way the settings for each zone. Hopefully this article will help people in understanding them better and possibly search for a way to defeat a feature introduced in Windows XP SP2 called local machine zone lockdown, which blocks any kind of active content such as scripts and activex from running on the computer, eg when u open a local html document. I find this an interesting issue since to the current day I havent seen any public code that could defeat that feature.
well, let´s discuss some ideas and get active again

The amount of new members joining and posting one liners such as "thanks" and other lame stuff need to be punished more severely. I see the same posts everyday and continually report them. The mods/admins here do a good job; very rarely does something major happen like on other security forums so it that respect, GSO is great.i agree tibbar...several noted places are going through a bad patch...and their doors are open all the time... we are closed most of the year...but at Present our doors are open again and will remain open till we feel the need to close...many new security forums have sprouted over the past few years...many of us now are spoilt for choice there are so many about.

If more of the members write new tutorials then this would improve the overall content of the forums. I've been writing a tutorial recently on installing a SSH server, configuring it, securing it and am adding a part on how to tunnel traffic through the SSH server. Still, I'm hesitating on if to post it or not because it’s not really to do with security like others are. I can write plenty of networking tutorials if that is what is wanted on this board.hmmmmmmmm tell me what kind of stuff you think it would be good for the forums as in programs, exploits and tutorials?
To improve this board more perhaps we could start some projects. Looking back on the older sections from a few years back quite a few were started and were successful. So what does everyone think about this?
To Blake, don't worry about not being here as much, your team does a great job
