hey folks
yesterday my mate asked me for a password generator and uuhmmmm ye i was quite bored so i just wrote a new one in C.
you can specify the charset, minimum password length, maximum password length, output file in settings.ini.
it also calculates the estimated file size of the password list and it seems to be really fast (after 1 hour i had a 100gb pass list).
the source code is included, have fun with it

edit:
ok just made v1.8
i fixed the estimated file size calculation (using 64 bit integers instead of double and selfmade 64-bit-pow()) and
i added a progress bar (+ percentage is shown)
also, you can't compile it with MSVC++ 6 anymore. i suggest you to use gcc (been using it to compile the enclosed binary)

known issues:
- estimated file size isnt 100% precise
- no status is shown

i will have a look to your programm !
I already have one but it was coded in C# (if i remember) and it is not the best ;)

I'll edit my post when my password list is generated.

Edit : a really good appz ! So fast and the ini file is a relly good idea :D GG!

I've tested and it's very quick. something like 30 sec pour 120 mo.
Realy great and the ini file is a very good idea. Otherwise it could be good to know the size of the file before genarating the list.
Good job

In don't thing it's a good idea to generate a passlist of 100 Gig ! Use rainbow tables :D

then u didn't understand the use of this program... it's for example for network/local bruteforcing...
rainbowtables are only useful for hashes cus of the fast lookup routine without having to recalculate the matching hashes everytime.

thank you for your app
its very nice and fast but you have a lil problem in the end of each routine

if you put [X] line max in the end of each line you will see the number of last char acording to the [X]

for ex:

in first line all be good
in next line you will see Z 2 times in the end
in next line u will see Z 3 times in the end etc ...

except thet the app is very nice :D

sorry but in my opinion this program doesn't make much sense because it's just like "normal" bruteforcing.
to me the generated password files are waste of space because a simple brute forcer can do the same job
without this gigabytes of diskspace ;)

U are right haz, but some good prog's dont have the bruteforcing option and works only with *.dic :)
