For anyone in here that likes to use mods while playing Halo, from what I remember you can mod on xbconnect without getting in trouble. I haven't played in forever though so who knows what the rules are now.

I havent heard of a mod taht wasn't local. Where can you find more info? XBConnect merely connects you to a diff server for online gaming, but mods shouldn't work there AND xbox live both right?

No, mods work there and on xbox live. Back when I used to play I can't tell you how many accounts I went through because I kept getting banned for modding. Basically for most of the mods to work properly, you have to get host in the game. If you don't then only a limited number of them work. Its pretty funny for a while watching how pissed off everyone gets as you demolish them, but it gets boring after a while... But to answer your question, yeah, most of the mods are local, but when you get host it is what they call it, you are hosting the game. I'll see if I can't find some old links with info

Xbox live doenz't like mods and are able to catch you pretty fast, on the other hand XBconnect could care less if you mod because they have no way of controlling it, so when your hosting and someone has a ping of 300 and they are kicking your ass, They are probably using a mod.

Sounds to me like it just pretty much like setting up a VPN and allowing the Xbox to work off of it. So how could they tell the different from a real lan and VPN, unless the started looking for VPN-specific irregularities.
