Laughed my ass off when i was reading this one.

A Colorado high school teacher was on administrative leave Thursday after he criticized President George W. Bush, capitalism and the United States' foreign policy in his geography class at Overland High School.

More than 100 students at Overland walked out of class in protest of the suspension Thursday morning. Then, additional students walked out to protest the teacher's remarks.

Very intresting comparison, but I didnt watch State of the Union so I cant tell, Students just protested just for the fun of it, I doubt they even know who hilter is .

Well, the teacher, is instructing, the students, to write down, the teachers personal opinion, as a fact, so the students protested uselessly.

Anyone who blindly accepts what a teacher tells you as facts at a high school level deserves to be shot like the nazis would have anyway.
If he was making an accurate comparison to the speech and hitler's speeches, then wtf is the big deal. He's not saying Bush is Hitler x2. He's just stating facts. Has this state come to the point where free speech isn't allowed in our schools anymore?
Wouldn't really be suprising, our school systems blow ass anyways.

I think it is good that a teacher gets in trouble every now and them for being too liberal. It sickens me to see our education being influenced by so many liberals.

Maybe primary education does, but as for university-level education, America has arguably the best universities in the world: Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Cal Tech, Yale, etc ...

offcourse yes, they are best in sciense and technology. but the main idea off topic is something else.

But about liberalism ... I personaly prefere it to radikalism ...

Teachers should keep their opinions to themselves at every level, unless asked privately by a student.

Education is supposed to teach you how to think, not WHAT to think. Given the tools and methods to make decisions and THE FACTS, most people can come to the correct conclusion.

Most education is so littered with personal opinion and outright lies that it's hard to learn without being stained by the carpfish that most teachers dish out.

And to further fuel the fire, IMHO, most teachers are underworked and overpaid. Before you hang me, just ask the teachers you know (I DARE YOU!):
- how much they enjoy their summers off (most of us in IT & Security work lots of extra hours on nights and weekends and don't get the summer off, so don't give me that carpfish about all those extra hours spent grading papers all weekend)
- how much they pay for health insurance. Do they even have a co-pay?
- how much they contribute to their pension
- how long do they have to work before they can retire?

Then take those answers and compare them to YOUR JOB and YOUR BENEFITS (or if you're a student still, ask your folks). Teachers harp about their salary, but never consider the other benefits they have. When you add it all up, teachers should shut up.

How many of you have a pension or can retire at age 50 or 55? Nuf said.

(I'm more agitated than usual over the "strong passwords, weak leadership" topic. Poor security and teachers are two of my hot buttons)

(My apologies to those hard working teachers who do care about our kids and not just their own pocketbooks. I know you're out there.)

Bush is a great leader, if there was a lib in office during this time we would be on our knees and fluffing al qaeda. It is just sickening, some of these libs like john kerry are compared the US/Allied military to terrorist. The facts are libs these days are just lost, all they do is try to bash bush instead of comming up with plans to solve issues. They want to see the US military fail just so they can bash bush some more. When I goto my classes, I'm there for facts and to learn something. I dont want my tax dollars for opinion based teaching because that isnt fact based teaching. If you arent teaching the facts then whats the point?
