Kgb Archiver Is The Compression Tool With Unbelievable High Compression Rate

KGB Archiver is the compression tool with unbelievable high compression rate. It surpasses even such efficient compression tool like 7zip and UHARC in terms of the abilities. Unfortunately although its powerful compression rate, it has high hardware requirements (I recommend processor with 1,5GHz clock and 256MB of RAM as an essential minimum). One of the advantages of KGB Archiver is also AES-256 encryption which is used to encrypt the archives. This is one of the strongest encryptions known for human. You need this archiever to extract the files. The extraction time depends entirely on your hardware and setting of priority for extraction . Average time extracting the files on a p4 3.2 ghz system with 1 gig of ram is about 2.47 hrs ( Priority = Above normal)

will only be able if the file doesn't contain many chars.

Lots of potential, but they just need to speed it up..

Curious as to what it actually countained...just a bunch of a's or what? lol, i could compress a few GB text file like that down to a few KB if that were true, lol.

it's best use atm imo would be for backups to save some space. but for quick compress and transfer mneh..

but hey cant it compress other file types too??
hope it can
and btw, what does this have to do with exploits ?????
Embed any executable in a JPEG image and get it to run upon opening the image with this cool tool that abuses a feature of GDI in Windows systems. for governmentsecurity.org members only! click here to get it!

30 hours later it was done with only 5 mb off : /

Well, considering the install file is already a compressed file, maybe it would be worth extracting the files and compressing them to see what you get, to get a fair comparison, because compressed files probably don't leave much space for more compression.....i compressed an installer (TmNationsESWC_Setup.exe) 265MB at extreme.

i was thinking the exact same thing myself
i will edit this so as not to double post
ive done what i belive to be a more subjective real world test on this archiver.
I took a mixed bag of packed/unpacked PE executables, text, png and dlls totaling an uncompressed size of 3.66 MB (3839968 bytes) or 3.71 MB (3891200 bytes) on disk and compressed them using winrar with the following settings solid archive max compression. This gave me an archive of 2.44 MB (2568022 bytes) or 2.44 MB (2568192 bytes) on disk this took all but a few seconds to achive. Next I compressed the same files using the kgb archiver using good compression. This took some 7 minuites 59 seconds this resulted in a file of 2.35 MB (2472188 bytes) or 2.35 MB (2473984 bytes) on disk a saving of 0.09 MB (1367780 bytes) or 0.09 MB (94280 bytes) on disk. A saving of just under 1 MB for an extra 7 minuites of compression is hardly worth it. I agree the potential is there but speed must be improved also I was unable to use the higher compression levels as I was warned about lack of memeory. This test was perormed on a 2.5 ghz p4 with 256 meg of ram under windows xp sp2 clearly there are some issues that need to be resolved. All in all it seems to be a decent archiver. It supports spanning and sfx options the same as most other archivers aswell as encryption and the ablity to store the full path in side the archive.
