half of it, its just not there?
wow, i'd try rebooting the pc.
Since u mentioned that you cleaned your pc, maybe a chip got wet.
I'd wait for a while till it dries up and then try it.

What you could potentially do is go to c:\documents and settings\adminorusername\desktop\ and then go to the tab tools > folder options and click restore defaults. Thats my best guess off the top of my head. I will do a bit of research and see if anything else comes to mind.
edit: just did a bit of researching found the site http://www.petri.co...._in_xp_2003.htm where it has something quite similar along with other things like that so im pretty sure it is in the registry on your desktop that you are getting. so you may want to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace and see what you find. In my registry it shows:
{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}
{1f4de370-d627-11d1-ba4f-00a0c91eedba}
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
{e17d4fc0-5564-11d1-83f2-00a0c90dc849}
now my desktop isn't specially tweaked or anything so see if you have any other keys that that in you registry , and if so im pretty sure you can remove them safely without any harm. Hope that helps

Genesis I clean my box's with a can of air, twisty ties, and a lot of luv, the chips only get wet from me making them sweat.
Insanity you are a gentleman and a scholar, I will try this tonight and surely come back with positive results somewhere in the direction you are pointing, Thanks!!!
lol at genesis haha. He only posted part of his desktop in the pdf to show that the folders at the top is what he wants to get rid of. I find it quite interesting that you have that there. I think that someone on your desktop you have an iframe attached or possibly not an iframe but a xml file running from your desktop properties causing this to happen. Damn, i wish i could add that to my desktop as well.
