this is a community, a forum where members exchange ideas, knowledge programs, codes, have a bit of fun , etc. being a community, it is expected that the members exchange some idea or comment on some post or give some feedback on something, even if its once in a while. If u wanna read stuff to improve your knowledge or have newer ideas n see different view points, u can search google n find out lots of results on your subject n read them without worring to register anywhere. u will probably run into this community and be able to read something (Without having to register) and btw that´s how I found this great community. also would save time to the admins when talking about deletion of '0 posters'.

for those who claim not to have time to post... oh common u can post something even on the open topic n reading & posting wouldn´t take u more than 5-10 minutes n u need not post everyday

just to go back on Gsecur post..

not only that but it seems we are getting quite a few lame guys returning here and using the PM system to pester members with offers and lame requests

we also have a few Nigerian scam boys here... if you get any of these requests... then PM a member of the admin team... and we will deal with them

on a final note.... GSO will be having a bit of a spring clean... this will include some members accounts being Deleted...ie

0 posters longer than 3mths

members who have registered multi accounts

a review of the trash can posts

and some repeatedly warned members...

dont be surprised if you can no longer access GSO... you have only your self to blame

we want to make GSO a better place for its members ...so we need to filter out un-wanted members...

well one question from me. if someone dont post even a single post for 3 or 4 months but reads the posts regularly and login almost every day . will his /her account be considered to be deleted

I think this is a good idea, and it gives me a reason to be active. I am almost ashamed I've been idle so long (I follow everything on RSS, but haven't posted in a while)... I just hope my account doesn't get deleted due to low activity the past years.

@funtush ... no .. only people who have NOT posted here at all of 3 mths and over will be considered for possible deletion , like has been pointed out.. we have an introduction thread here... its not hard to do introduce yourself is it

many of the 0 post accounts have been registered as multi users accounts...ie having more than 1 account, after i do a check on the IP's and i find members registered with more than 1 account... regardless of there status here... then they also run the risk of being deleted ...SO if any member here has registered more than 1 account... then i will call an amnesty and NOT delete them providing they contact me via PM or any member of the admin team ...with there second account so we can delete them

what about people whose computers are used by more than one person.like if me and my brother both have accounts,our ip will be the same but it wouldnt be classified as a multi account or would it??and another thing ,you say that the registrations are closed then how come that the latest member joined today??

we still have a few members waiting to validate their accounts...once validated... they are classed as a new member from that date

sometimes.. an admin might have created an account for a friend or a members friend ...providing they vouch for them , members can recommend a friend...BUT if that friend turns out to be Lame.. then BOTH will lose there accounts

re:Brothers..good point... if they are both active in the forum..then we should be able to tell them apart from the style of writing and also most of these guys who register multi accounts normally will have registered them within a few minutes of each other...some even using the same email address...also if one brother is active posting in the forum usually so is the other... if the other brother has not posted at all..then it looks suspicious...also if brothers are here and we do have a few ... then send an admin a PM and we will look into there previous posts

Well me too have been rading the forums for years but havent actually contributed except for a few noob posts a couple years back but i find its much more interesting and really helps learning just to read through every post on the forums instead of posting another noob question.
But like everyone else I do hope to be able to contribute something during my time here. Hopefully

3991 who registered before 15/12/2005 with 0 posts
39 disabled accounts

next stage .. multi account registrations , Trash can review , some multi warned members

also made changes to status ranks

Blue = full member
Black = trial Members

I think it is a good thing that you are closing the boards, at least temporarily. It always bothers me when good communiites are damaged by large numbers of single posters.

By the way, you guys are doing a great job at moderating these forums.

Well here we go, registration is closed. This has been long coming especially with the increase in poor posts. We have left registration open for the longest time period we have ever done. But it is time for us to return to the old days.

Sounds like you are doing great work guys. Ive noticed over the last couple of months that the quality of the posts had diminished and I had also recevied a couple of requests for exploits and doing sum1 else dirty work. Keep up the great work guys. Looking forward to high quality posts once again. :-)

yeah it was getting rediculous having 100's of people post their first post and go strait to the trash can... some of the later topics being... buy paypal accounts and paypal scams and serv-u's. Like honestly does anyone read the rules anymore, Is there a way to actually force the members who join to actually read them. but yeah, have noticed since registgration has closed that many of the posts have been a lot less in the trashbin and the posts have had a bit more thought put into them then "how do i hack windows with MSN" or "Is my ping still running"

Well, you could always have a quiz on the rules, which people have to keep retaking untill they get 100% on it before they are allowed to post, that would force people to read the rules, but some people will probably still ignore them and post crap, but its an idea.....

And there's no downside (that I can see) since all it requires is that a user have the ability to read.
