Which file is required to boot linux from the CD-ROM. I can't seem to be able to do it with the copy that I have. Maybe the file never got copied or is corrupted. Can someone please name the file?

What do you mean digger? Are you trying to run redhat from a CDROM (you can't) or did you forget to install a boot loader partition?
If you did you will have to create a boot disk with GRUB on it, and configure the parameters manually. (I don't remember how)

I'm sorry guys but I should have posted in detail. I had installed RedHat 9.0 earlier and I used a floppy disk to boot into Linux (Because Mr. LILO wouldn't work) I thought of making some changes to the boot loader so I slipped my RedHat CD into the drive. But the damn thing wouldn't boot. Earlier I had used my friends CD's to install Linux and copied then later on. I believe they never got burned properly that's why I can't seem to be able to boot from the RedHat CDs. Therefore, I'm checking for any missing files in the first CD, so that they could be written on my HDD, instead of burning all the three CD's again
P.S: I've already made changes to the boot sequence from the BIOS

Oh, well actually did you just copy the files onto the CD and burn them or did you actually burn from an iso.
If you just did a copy you probably forgot to make the first CD a bootable media (Burning an iso would have done this automatically).

Actually I made a copy off the original ....
Never mind. I asked a friend of mine for the CD's and he'll get them tomorrow. Will install RedHat again
