Another thing is that more features on a high-tech device which is going to be bought impress people and they buy them even though some of these features will never be used or they don't know about what they are. I find it totally senseless that people choose high-tech devices with some features(such as games, java and so on). I personally use Sony Ericsson T610, and don't use much of its features. It's what I could get with my cell phone contractor at the cheapest price since I needed one. It has Java, WAP, GPRS and so on, but I use it for sending SMS and calling people, nothing else. Java and Internet at home is enough for me.

I have two low-end cell phones. I was thinking of getting a blackberry, but the cell phone in that devices sucks---both the microphone and the receiver and the way they're put on the phone.
So I'm thinking of going to a Treo so I can get email and a phone in one.
If your referring to the Sprint Treo might want to look into something BN. I have a good friend of mine that has had 2 in the span of 2 years and he's fed up with them. 1 was a replacement and this new one is giving him a hard time as well.
Thought you might like to know that before you invest your hard earned money on it.
IMHO, you're either organized or you're not. Unorganized people think that PDAs and the like will organize their day and increase their productivity. Automating your memory (via alarms that remind you to do something like go to a meeting) and your schedule doesn't change the underlying problem for unorganized, distracted people: that is, they're still un-orged and distracted.
I just had a discussion with someone over this the other night. I find that those who stick to the regime of step 1, step 2, step 3 in the work process or daily life activities are the ones you d@mn near have to slap in the face to control when they start stressing out because step 4 was taken out of the equation. If I ever get stuck in an elevator with people like that I'm gonna laugh untill my sides hurt and my eyes water cause there gonna be loads of fun for the first 30 minutes. After that I'll have to keep my hands in my pocket or I'll end up sticking a pen in there neck

The Treo would be a business expense. I'd never spend my money on a mobile. But thanks for the heads up.
As for 1-4, I used to be like that
The reason I'm the security guy in my company is becuase the last one delivered very little. When we were sized up, they moved the other guy out.

I have a small obsession with my Treo 650...
...This sh*t is sick!
(sorry, couldn't find a smaller pic)
I have an obsession with my Treo 650 as well, but I purchased the unlocked GSM version. I got sick and tired of "contract-bullying". It also gave me flexibility whenever I would travel, namely S. Korea, Guam, Philippines, and to a certain degree, Iraq.
Normally, I would never have spent so much on a mobile, but I admit my curiousity got the better of me: I was tired of juggling my old Nokia and Palm M505--I was looking for a convenient alternative. Other than explaining to my wife why I spent so much on it (she was pissed and didn't talk to me for days), I really have no regrets over it. The pda phone just really eased itself into my work and personal tempo.

4 downloads Windows mobile on it and a useable keyboard. I can connect to whatever I want, run remote desktop, vnc, play games, do wifi scanning, connect to my GPS and make my own programs for it as well. A darn good phone I just miss the buttons like the HTC S710 has which is almost the same one but then with buttons. If you use wifi and bluetooth and lots of other stuff it still works longer then I expected. I wouldnt want a phone I cant program for so mainly nokia and windows mobile for me.

I have a T-Mobile Wing (Windows Mobile 6 device), made by HTC and very similar to the HTC S710 pictured a few posts above. By far the coolest, most fun, and most productive phone/PDA I've ever owned.

Feels like having a rock in your pocket but takes a beating. Camera is the typical - Short battery life because my phone is always straining for a signal. Hopefully Google will win the bid for the 700 mhz range (Nextel is 800 mhz) and there is talk of Google buying Nextel from Sprint which would me amazing. Plus this phone is overkill for me being that I have a laptop with me 24/7

well had a couple since my post... most notible was I-mate K-jam ...to bulky and damn slow... now using Nokia N95 with latest firmware... not bad with built in GPS even if its a bit slow to load at times... only gripe is the sounds are a bit tinny but realplayer media is pretty neat for my vids.... my wife has a moto RIZR Z8 her sounds have excellent tone way better than the N95 ...on a footnote connecting the phone up to the TV is handy for watching films you download providing you got a microSD with plenty of spare space;)
