i became a member at 7 posts, all of which contained relevant information. im happy to see someone addressed this issue the "thanks" replays. i think the thing to say is if all youve got to say is "thanks" it would be better to just not reply. anyway, my 2 cents on this one are spent.

One morning I wake up and I say "Gee I will open registration today" Then the next minute I say gee I am shutting it dow. So right now the door is shut. Thats is what makes a suspension here a little more meenigful. You never know if you will get back in.

GSO is a great forum, but it's not the only good security forum. Think that there are many other alternatives which can compete with GSO as well.

Like what? I sure haven't found any. No, I don't think we've cornered the market, but I definitely think we're way up there.
I haven't seen any other board with our quality in the public areas and no one whacks skiddies like we do.

true that we have thousands of security boards up and running but GSO has its own style and repu.... also it has the most of the respect a security board should have..... and its a few megabytes better than other boards online

First of all, sorry for my way of explanation.
I realized that my explanation way has confused the folks, so I will explain clearer what I mean.
I said "can compete", and not "are competing". Also I mean here the following: There are many other security forums, some of them good, some of them not good. But they are able to get better. That's a matter of the member quality, and the member-admin-communication. Any potential good member who isn't able to enter GSO will seek another alternative to improve that. When these people work for these alternatives and improve them, and even become moderators/admins there, the forum quality gets increased. The member quality and member-admin-communication is built in GSO very well, I personally can't deny it. But it doesn't mean that noone else can do that. If GSO admins and moderators can do that, admins at AntiOnline or any other security forum can do that, too. That's nothing special to do with GSO moderating team, GSO moderators and admins are humans like you and me, too.
I didn't deny that GSO is a great forum. But when it was founded, it didn't become a great forum immediately. It's also mentioned in relevant threads what happened in years since the foundation. It's a matter of hard work, and GSO does it well. They are not competing, but can compete if they change their way of administration.

I have personally looked around at other security forums, but GSO still remains as my fav. It is nice to not have to deal with kids who are trying to "hack the skool netwerk."
