now yesterday or so i did a post...posted it...went to another topic and tried to post something else then i get this flood control message saying i cant post i must wait 900 seconds...now i did the math and thats 15 minutes which is freaking insane and crazy why do i have to wait 15 minutes to spread whats on my mind?
the reason was because several idiots who were banned from here ..rejoined using proxys and were posting 20-30 posta within 10 to 15 mins... the forum was clogged with these guys trying to destroy the forum
original it was set to 30 mins... and i reduced it to 15 , this has helped us combat a major issue in spamming... it also gives a team member a chance to spot then and be on top of the situ.... i dont think members want to read 20-30 thanks replys...would you complain if you had to read them... i know i would !!
i hope that explains the reason for the flood contol
BTW Once a full member the Flood control dont apply

i've searched the complete site and came up with this thread...
at first i was told you needed to be a trial member for 1 month, well it is over now, and i'm still "only" trial.
i don't care about the flooding time, but what i do care about is that i can not reply in the other topics...
and if you can get a member more quicker, then tell me how.
i visit this site at least 2 times a day, so that shouldn't be a problem
this link also doesn't really help.

also if i need 50 posts to be a full member...
i have 12....need 38..it would take me exactly 9.5 hours to become a full member with the 15 minute flood control that is....so why not? ;D

I'm sure it's a help to control the flooding but I don't agree that it doesn't hinder anyone. For example, it hinders me.The flood control is definitely a help, doesn't hinder anyone.
As a trial member I feel hindered to be fully functional at the forums due to the fact I have to wait 15 minutes to be able to post a reply to a thread again. I have read many topics and on a lot I was able to reply but I didn't want to wait 15 more minutes so I didn't bother to reply and instead went on reading other topics. My point is: Reading topics will not ever make me a full member, replying will because that's something that gets noticed by the moderators/administrators. I understand because of the recent floodings that it is not interesting for you to completely remove the flood protection but, please, lower the waiting time to something like 5 minutes because 15 minutes is a very long wait.

you DONT need exactly 50 posts to become a member
quality not quantity

I'd just like to comment and say that it's sad that in trying to prevent flooding, we've started an entire topic of major conversation. If all the forum topics could be as lively as this... well, we'd all get a lot more done
