This is one of my very few tutorials. My grammar will be bad, i'll try to make it at ledgeable as possible. So here we go.

Step One- What does it do?

Step Two- How to do it.

Step Three- Finishing up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step One What does it do?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, basicly what the "Msn Booter" does is just lags the crap out of another persons computer. It's very easy to do, + no script kiddie programs. All it will do is send a mass amount of packets to the victim and if their computer is slow enough will lagg them so hard their MSN will freeze.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step Two How to do it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First: Open up notepad.

Second: Open MSN Messenger

Since you should have your MSN open. Disable your emoticons. In MSN go to
tools/uncheck emoticons. Easy as that.

Next, you wanna open notepad, and since we are alll good you wanna probley use a emticon with alot of animation (movement) it can be a custom one but since this is a tutorial and everybody doesn't have custom emoticons, we'll use the crying smiley face.

So in notepad just type :'( than highlight it, right click and click copy. Now on your keyboard hold down CTRL than hold down V. And wait about.. 30-40 seconds before you release than hold down CTRL and press A than right click and click copy.

Now, this is where the fun begings. Open a message box to your victim. Just "IM" them. And press the Ctrl V thing again until it runs out of room to type than press ENTER keep repeating and hopefully they'll lagg like a fool.

Step Three Finishing up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, that was my first tutorial... I hope it was a good one. I know it sucks, so if your going to "flame" me do it properly. So maybe i'll learn some grammar wink.gif. Thanks and enjoy. -dos
DiabloHorn

Dennis
You are talking about not using any skiddie programs, but this is even worse IMHO.
netcomm
Nice try but oh so very lame.
thecowman
i think hes being serious
DiabloHorn
it may be viewed lame by a lot but at least he's not asking stupid questin and he IS exploring on himself.

I DO encourage him to go down the path of curiousity just change the goal.

Like I said before this is childish but prolly fun if you are messing around and figure it out...just focus on other things(coding, knowing how things work, finding errors etc...) and keep those tutorials comming

this tut. reminds me of a friend trying to knock me down on msn by using a macro program...that shit froze a bit my msn...then I couldnt be more evil, I told him that there was a bug on MSN which it was possible to instantly knock down all his contacts msn that were online and could see him online by loggin out then signing in appearing offline and typing a specially crafted text in the 'write personal message' field and then setting the status to online....then he liked it and I gave him, but asked that he please blocked me so that I wouldnt be affected...then he said : 'haha am doing it but I am not blocking you'... I just laughed and thought..."wait n see" ... haha...some seconds later he was getting online and offline instantly as soon as he got online....meaning he wasnt being able to get online. about 30 minutes later he signs in on windows messenger crying I was a jackass...then I laughed n told him nothing bad happend, just that he couldnt get online on msn anymore...and gave him the instructions to get rid of that...

thatīs why I say...who last laughs, laughs best! laugh.gif

ps: social engeneering always does a good job wink.gif

despite what others say, it's good that you're researching and exploring.

at the same time, what would be more interesting as a tutorial on how to defend against this attack.

Haha oh yes, Yahoo Messenger! Jeez that's a blast from the past. When i was in my teens i used to have a yahoo account and used to go chatting in various rooms. It makes me cringe even thinking about it now. But yeah, i remember at that time Yahoo Booters were the IN thing. I'm pretty sure they were around before MSN. You'd go into a room and be all fly and be trying to chat to someone you assumed was a girl and your screen would fill up with random emoticons and you'd have to quit yahoo. It will be too soon if i ever use Yahoo again for IM.

Funny thing today, i was looking at my IPS logs and noticed someone in one of our offices trying to use Yahoo Messenger over HTTP. Muhahaha. DENY

Oh and regarding the original post. I both agree that it is a very poor post and does not meet the standards of this site. But also congratulate the poster for learning and trying to contribute (Playing with shit like Yahoo booters was actually the starting point of my interest in Information Security).

come on, give it up for the effort wink.gif

i think you forgot one crucial thing though: Most messengers limit the ammount of emoticons to like... 15... per message. so you will get 15 actual animations, and the rest will be spelled out as ;(
Plus, just because it's a repeated image, it does not mean it will load the image x ammounts of time into the RAM. It will simply load the image once, and repeat to show it. It would be better to use a ton of different animations, but i think with nowadays ram size, you will hardly run into any trouble. So i don't think it's gonna make any difference, unless you are running a system with 16k RAM lol.
He's using verry basic thinking, and theoretically, i can see why he would think it would lagg out the users computer. In theory though, it does not work like he's thinking. That would be too easy. Sorry.

But props for the attempt to share some "knowledge", maybe 10 years down the line and he will be sharing some real good stuff. His intentions are good, at least give him that much wink.gif
