The experts in the world of Digital Forensics quote Windows Forensic Analysis by Harlan Carvey (hxxp://www.amazon.com/Windows-Forensic-Analysis-Including-Toolkit/dp/159749156X) as being an excellent reference source and many have stated that the chapter on registry analysis alone is worth the price of the book. I'm an amateur as far as Digital Forensics is concerned and have both of his forensics books. They are very easy to follow and can and can recommend them.
