Did you forward the ports to your local IP?

if u use flashfxp is very simple:
forward something like 10 ports to your local ip i.e. from 2010 to 2020
then go in
preferences...
proxy / firewall /ident...
into firewall section
select:
limit local port range to:
Min: 2010
Max: 2020
and select also:
Bind sockets to this address. Place your EXTERNAL address into that form.
Done, now u can fxp ;)

To explain why its not working notice the IP transmitted by your client to the ftp server.
Should looks like PORT 192,168,0,14,8,154
That tells (for active ftp) on which IP/Ports the server must connect back for data connection to be established.

As you know 192.168 is not routable, so the server dont know how t connect back to client.

Settings described above for flashfxp tells the client to send command PORT <Public IP comma spearated>,8,154. "8,154" are the two hexadecimal values that give port number (search for "FTP PORT COMMAND" in google to see how..).

As explain you got to forward (on your router) specified ports in flashfxp to the ftp client host.

forward the port, and the pasv ports. also, dont use port 21 as (for some reason, and this helped me under my circumstances) cannot sustain fxp transfers.

i found that my ftp client allows me to use two fxp types, one being passive which wont work with my router and the other is called "port method" no idea how that one works at all. all i know is it does work for me :D

with flashfxp i had to add the site(s) to the fav list, edit them and there is an option somewhere for what fxp method should be used, selected the "port" one and recconect, all should be good.

or you could try forwarding the passvie port range to your lan ip but that would have taken time and i am lazy.

hope that helped

hi
i just got my new router netgear rp614v3 and i realized that i can not fxp any more ;/
i forwarded ports ( 2000 - 2050 ) on my router to my internal ip
and in flashfxp i unchecked the "Use Passive Mode" , checked "Send noops during transfer"
checked "limit local port range to min:2000 max 2050"
and also checked "Force active mode ...." and in that box i entered my external ip

exactly as it is here http://www.governmen...=8278&hl=router

but still it doesnt work :( i also tried FXP via Socks 5 server (Bouncer v1.0.RC6) but didnt work either ;/
is there any1 who know who to fix the problem ?? w/o removing the router or setting it to DMZ ?

i just found out how to fix that /
u need to turn on UPnP
(it worked for me)
