I saved my reservations on this topic to see how it would decrease spam in my mail accounts. At least give it a chance. It has been a little over a week now and still no end to the spam. In fact spam in my email has just about doubled over the last week. So as it seems this CAN-SPAM Act has done nothing as it stands now as it has not been enforced as of yet to throw it out there that they are serious on the spam issue.

These "smart filters" are not very smart at all.

hmmm so spammers only take maybe a few seconds out of your day to click the little tabs and click delete (more excercise than most actually do in a day) so there a mere annoyance, and since when is a mere anoyance penalized more than actual detremental full blown crimminals? I mean I too get spam but it makes me feel better that someone actually takes the time to put my addy on their mailing list. Instead of penalizing spammers why dont we make a game out of seeing how fast you can pick out the spam from the legit mail and delete it all.

My current 1 full day spam deletion time 10.4 seconds

Well, spammers dont actually sit there and lovingly type out your e-mail address, thinking about how much they would actually like to get to know the real person behind the address, and asking themselves whether that person would actually benifit from the crap they are about to send.

So unfortunatly, I cant share in that "feel-good" factor that you might get! :D

However, seeing as you have a warning point from posting advertising on these boards before...I can see how you might not have a problem with this!
