You can buy it from checkpijt for 30$ it comes with a built in 15 day trial license but I am sure you know that. I do have a copy of the CD I suppose I could play nice and share. drop me a e-mail at T-BoNe@rubixcube.org

NG AI rocks. Escpecially the secure platform load. Up and running in 30 minutes, unless of course you let the customer create the policy (like today) and spend 7 hours chasing your tail wondering what broke DNS. *note to self* If you don't create the policy yourself don't trust it. LOL

NG AI is nice .. if you're looking for a software based Enterprise firewall, this is the one to get.
However, I like PIX a LOT better myself.

hi there,,
ive got Checkpoint NG FP4 with AI
its got a 15 day license..
which is enough to play around with it.
but so far ive never seen a crack on license floating around for it..
cause it needs a loopback address entered against which a particular
serial is registered ..so there can never be an illegal version registered.

You juste need to setup an interface with a local IP (even with no link) and attach a license to it.

We used that trick to use our license of the management server for testing lab (NG FP3). I'm quite sure NG AI uses same licensing scheme.

It does, any NG license will work on any NG platform. IP addys do need to be the same as thats what the license is looking for. I get a month to month eval license, but then I work for a Checkpoint ATC and there are some perks that go with that.

Not knocking the PIX either, we sell a lot of Cisco gear as well. We started looking into selling Netscreen in the near future. (Hope Checkpoint doesn't find out. LOL)

Netscreen has far better performance...for a relative lower price. Don't hesitate.

If you don't know how to admin all those firewall..just have a look at solsoft product. Nice stuff but very expensive.
