If you thought that its impossible to detect the physical location of a person in your Wireless Lan (WiFi), then read on.

It is just a sniffer that can tell you that there is a rogue device on your wireless network. It doesn't help you track them down. You still ahve to do it the old fashioned way of using a directional antenna to find out which direction they are from you.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Hi jeremy :) You're right, there's nothing novel in the method as such.

However, I like the tool since its specially meant and equipped for that purpose you see :-)

well okay, unless terrorist are that bad they probably change their macaddress somehow using macchanger or other apps on their respective OSes. anyhow from the description, i would conclude that the program only detects the hardware addresses on the computer and alerts the main computer of the intrusion before the person has to run around with the atenna equipment. Anyhow there are probably ways to by pass this; essentially you can spoof the mac address to that of the authorised computer.

so basically if i was on linux, i would airodump/sniff whoever connects to the router , and change my address respectively to avoid detection. anyway, any proper person would use some form of encryption for their wireless hardware and if they did and the intruder can still enter, i would think they are capable of bypassing the alert easily; well unless they are unaware of it.
