Hi everyone
I am VERY new to linux
I like the idea of Live Linux
I just downloaded Knoppix
How can i make knoppix run from a usb drive?
I have enough space(1 GB card)
I have already configured the biod to check for USB
How can i put the iso on a flash drive? I only know how to burn it to disk.. :o

most linux distributions include an usb installer. check the knoppix website or use google, you'll probably find many answers to your question...

On google, i found a way how to do it for another linux distribution, and it was all done manually :(

Antibody, What's the advantage of using DSL?

easiest way to install DSL on your USB is via linux itself.. they include a nice shellscript that does it for you in a few secs after your answer a few easy questions..
if you don't have any installed you might want to try a simple LiveCD like knoppix (or DSL itself :P ) to write it to your USB?

as java is not 'open-source' (well there are open-source alternatives), but if you really want to use sun's java still.. as DSL/knoppix are all debian based.. you should be able to use this
http://www.crazysquirrel.com/computing/debian/java.jspx

Though sounds stupid to install it everytime.. so it would be handy to either put the deb file on the USB also if you have space.. so you won't have to redownload it again.. just dpkg -i <filenameOfJavaSun.deb> .. to install it and use it..

or google for a way to install it directly to the USB image or something.. but think that will cause many problems if you are pretty new to linux
