Personally Own one of these, Love it to bits, Dropped it prob around 1k-2k times and its worked every so flawlessly for me. I have also owned a nano and a video which broke quite fast. Although they are still First gen found First gen Mini to be much more durable. Thumbs up!

The good: Best-of-breed design and interface; comes in four colors; excellent playlist features; clean sound; smooth syncing with iTunes; organizes contacts; includes games; functions as an external drive; large third-party support; improved battery life.

The bad: No FM radio or recording capabilities; battery not user-replaceable; FireWire cable and AC adapter not included.

The bottom line: In the iPod Mini redux, Apple offers two capacity options and a more competitive pricing scheme--welcome improvements in an already fantastic player.

It's a great mp3 player, but, the mini can't hold all my songs, so just bring a windows laptop with you everywhere, with winamp installed, or a linux laptop with some good music player installed.

Edit: I'm bored, on the phone, MSN, AIM, and yahoo talking to 14 different people

what type of post is that sarkar112. Your getting lazy or desperate on your posts. To say just bring a laptop there is a) totally changing the subject, B) the input you are giving is useless and does nothing for the product and c) we dont care if you have a linux laptop with some good music player installed. :)

(sorry to be blunt, but its true in many posts i have seen from you.)

edit: someone stole my ipod mini today :| If anyone knows who did it give me a pm ;)

Yeah, storage is one thing. If you've seen firewall you would see what they did with the ipod making it into a scanner, Unrealisitic to a certain extent, Possible and creative but defiantly enjoy that you can use the ipod as a storage device as well.

Just watched that movie yesterday. Wasn't bad. Speaking of movies though I'm amazed Borat hasn't been quoted yet with the "IPod mini is for girls"...

Anyways, with you mentioning the Ipod being used as a storage device, Pod Slurping comes to mind. Don't really know too much about it, but for those that don't know what it is, people create programs that search for important files/documents on a computer and copy them to their Ipod. Then all they have to do is plug their Ipod into the computer for a few seconds and they've possibly got several confidential files. I guess its not that hard to do, I just don't know any language well enough yet to create a program to do it...

I have the new shuffle. It's nice and I can just clip it to my pocket and not have to worry about dropping it ;)
Security by design, not implementation.

The best thing about the small MP3 players is the flash memory. With flash memory you don't have to worry about scratching your hard drive while running or doing something that could cause an impact. All I-Pod Nano's, Mini's are very durable because of this. Their storage isn't little either, when your on an outing or holiday, are you going to manage to listen to 4 GB of Music?

iam using App Nano that is great. I got it from accessorygeeks. It's new Genius feature with highly intelligent, personal DJ. It creates playlists by finding songs in your library that go great together. Give your iPod nano a shake and turn it sideways to view your albums in Cover Flow. Nice products from Apple, good quality and fit.
