Hi all,

I'm after a bit of help if possible I am on NTL with an old Terayon TJ210 cable modem Ive been upgraded to 10mbit but can only get around 4mbit so I bought a NTL 250 modem from eBay (NTL wanted to charge me 50 quid for one) the only problem is that the person I got it from bought it from a car boot sale and the MAC address is registered to someone else because of the data protection act NTL wont take the other persons name off of the modem so I can use it so is there a way round this i.e. changing the MAC address if so any info would be gladly appreciated

Thanks

P.S i'm a noob at anything like this so if there is a way round it an idiot guide would help me.........Thanks

1) Sell it to someone else on eBay
2) Try buying another one
3) Hope you don't go to a PMITA prison in the process
4) ???
5) Profit

The only way you will be able to change the mac on a 250 modem is to take the chip out and flash it with a 100 ntl or a 120 ntl modem and put the chip back.. so no your not gonna be able to get free internet ;).
