There used to be a site with all these weird things, and people's explanadtions for them.

If I remember right, most of those are from around Area 51?
They're probably used for bomber target alignment for pilots, the craters were probably the result of LIVE vs. DUMMY munitions being used.

Does anyone remember the site(s) that used to have a large database of these, I seem to have never bookmarked it?

yeh theres a forum somewhere with explanations as to whats what .i think its part of ge so start there .obv man made stuff but very cool

I have a friend that works at LM and they have a compass that's greater in size then any of those. like a 20 mile compas. They use it for when the space shuttle comes down to earth. They also use it for pilot alignment. If I remember I'll get a google map link for it, really AMAZINGLY cool pictures. "Oh shit that's like 20 Stealth bombers, too leet!"
