I'm looking for a Linux application that will allow me to record a VoIP phone call.

It's extremely easy in Windows using Cain & Abel but I'd rather use a similar Linux utility.

BTW, I've found that C&A v2.66 works best for doing the arp poisening and VoIP recording. You can download that version here: http://secwatch.org/...setup.exe&cat=2

And you can find a video tutorial on VoIP recording here: http://irongeek.com/...ideos/cainvoip1

Thanks for any links you can throw at me!

Check out Vomit (http://vomit.xtdnet.nl/), only works with Cisco IP Phones G.711 though.

that one looks promising, I haven't had any time to play with it yet though, but I did just get done with Cain and Able, too bad I could only hear one side of the conversation, lol.

If you find anything out, post about it.

I emailed Adrian (aka IronGeek) and he also recommended Vomit. I don't use Cisco IP phones but I'll take a look at it also in case it supports more devices in the future.

Thanks for the link PuNkErX, I'll take a look at this one also.

Not sure if you're looking for commercial stuff - but these guys do what you want.

Thanks for the link, ferd, but that looks like it's Cisco specific, and not for Linux (unless I didn't look hard enough).

As mentioned earlier, it's just too easy to record VoIP phone calls using Cain&Able on a Windows platform.

PuNkErX, if there is a switch inbetween both VoIP phones, you'll be able to hear both sides.

Thanks for the info guys, and I'm still on the lookout for a Linux solution that's not Cisco specific.

I think mostly the problem is the G623 codec, which is commercial.

It is weird that Cain supports it.
