Error 53 is a name resolution issue.

as for nbtstat -a ip... it should be -A. -a is for looking up by hostname, and -A is by ip.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

look man

-a ip = for example 127.0.0.1

-A hostanme = shaggy.bangs.com

so if you wanna use 127.0.0.1 you should type :

netstat -a 127.0.0.1

Hi there,

i belive your problem is here. First you must do a "net use" and if successfull you can then do a "net view". this is what i usualy do:

Quote

net use \\192.168.1.123\IPC$ "" /u:192.168.1.123\administrator
net view \\192.168.1.123\IPC$ "" /u:192.168.1.123\administrator
tested 2min. ago against a VM running 2k3.
also useful if injecting in a MSSQL server:

Quote

EXEC master..xp_cmdshell 'net use \\192.168.1.120\IPC$ "123456" /u:192.168.1.120\testuser'
EXEC master..xp_cmdshell 'net view \\192.168.1.120\IPC$ "123456" /u:192.168.1.120\testuser'

tested 1min. ago aginst the same machine... trying to enumerate host on the lan
please note that '123456' is the password of a known user, also try with no password, and account "administrator", works quite often too.

i get that error every time i forget the "net use" command :P and try to stick with IPs, NAme resolution can some times be a pain in the @#$
try it out... and drop me a line if you need any thing.

one more thing... i'ts to early in themorning here in portugal  sorry if i didn't answer your question
