Just an idea, as i am a beginner i have alot of stupid question left unanswered becuase they would probably laughed at by the professionals here. I think it would be a great idea and a great learning experience for the beginners, if the space/bandwidth is available. you could start a poll to see if other people would agree?????

Yes I think this would be a good idea, possible people could volunteer to help Beginners out with there questions.

I think it's a bad idea, ask your questions in the main chat.
You will be creating a dead channel. You will be lucky if 5 people idle.

well it has its advantages and it has its disadvantages...... but believe me even some professionals on a forum can learn something from a beginner...... its not always that the professional masters in everything...... well that was just my opinion but thanX toe for sharing your idea.

Who's a beginner and who's not?

Some people think themselves as experienced but are not and some think they're not experienced but are (a little bit).

So I think it's better not to create such a channel

I think you have a point, i think maybe the senior members of the forum should encourage beginners to ask questions in IRC, maybe a lot of them are afraid too because they will be flamed.

Well, I'm 24/7 on the IRC chat at irc.governmentsecurity.org and I can say noone gets flamed.
Sometimes when someone asks lazy questions (don't read as newbie questions), the question is answered by using www.woot.info from _SerhaT_ script :)

I don't see a problem creating the #beginnner-chat. Try and see if it works, otherwise just jump off from there. nothing to lose.

I didn't see anyone getting flamed for it..
I've seen enough beginner questions and none got flamed for it..
There are even people who can help you with linux distro's for example..
people having problems with gentoo most of the time get support from Kuerby/Buzzons ..
And also I agree again with fulvioo.. try to make the channel.. and see how it goes..

Im another irc contributer... Beginners dont get flammed. All questions are usually security or computer technical, and no-one knows everything, or had experience with every program....

Ive probably learnt more from beginner chats (many ofwhich i have started, /me shakes fist at Kuerby and gentoo !) than from many of the other discussions happening...

imho, the channel isnt needed because people wont know about it. General questions get asked to all idlers in #gso-chat or rainbow table questions in #rainbowcrack....

Its a good idea, but 70% of the time that channel is chatting, so we need another 30% to fill up :P

Ok i think that we should continue at the current irc channel and not start a seperate one. So far i`ve seen that the traffic at the current channel is slow but noone gets flamed at and no discremenation has taken place (unless offence serious takes place).

If both the channels are dead, its just a waste of space. What do u think?
