Anyone Can Tell Me How Can I remove A hidden Network adaptor (not physicaly present on the my Pc) from the Network Connections Folder...

If you can't see it in the folder, it not in the folder. Folder is just a gui tool that does what it told.

I've give you one shot to clarify, do you mean it visable in your local arp table in a cli or a ifconfig/ipconfig or something else. Hidden in a folder can be as simple as someone modified the registry by mistake or on purpose or adapter removed but not properly.

A little more time compoising your post to include as many needed details as possible and verify it is clear to people that tend to only speed english would get you more accurate answers. Attitude gets very little.

I am still confused abt ur situation . first is that network connections folder shows connections and not adapters (adapters are used by those connections which u can select in properties) ... Adapters are shown in device manager ..you may get some info there

Can u put up result u get for ipconfig command ....



Btw did u install winpcap .. i think it puts some this kindda stuff ...

1.In The Device Manager I am Able To See Network Adaptor #2(Which is not Physically present)

2.Secondly When I try to Uninstall That Adaptor, An error occurs sayin:Failed To Uninstall the Device. The device may be required to boot up the computer.

I had this once, I seem to recall that I managed to remove it by booting up in safemode and removing it in there. (You also need to select show hidden devices in device manager as well)

I think what he means is....

...say you have a laptop and your on your corporate network with your network connection and life is grand. Then you go out to say 3 clients and connect your laptop up at each location. When you get back to your office, the 3 extra connections won't be visible, but they will still exist.


or, for example. Say you have one broadband connection, then you move to another provider. Your initial broadband connection will not be visible in the network connection gui...but it will still exist (for example in the registry).

Add in your system environment variables the variable
DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES
set it's value to: 1
reboot your machine
goto your device manager
show all hidden devices
Now you can see all devices you ever installed including the ones that still have drives installed but are no longer in use. So dont be surprised if you see multiple monitors or haddrives and so. Just simply delete the network card you no longer have and you are done.
Without this environment variable you will not see the devices that are no longer present.
