Ok first off I hope you all had a good Easter break, will I am on another customers site today, and they are getting loads of traffic/hits from a site that looks like it has been hijacked by this group/person JTPFXP. Now a quick Google search has told me they seem to be a group, looks like mainly warez but was wondering if any one has come into contact with them before.

JTPFXP is just a tutorials board where people can learn the basics op FXP'ing. They don't discuss anything about hacking, only things like: pubbing, using wingates, etc.

hmmm... sorry for my dumb question. I've red this

Quote

FXPing (also known as filling) is the food that feeds the FXP scene, where scanning is it's blood. It works on a pretty simple level, by transferring files from one server to another without actually acquiring the files yourself. Why would we do this? The answer to that is: one, anyone can FXP. A person on a 56k modem will be able to FXP at the same speed at anyone else, giving it a wide area of user base. Two, it's faster. It eliminates the need for you to download then go and upload the files, virtually save up to hours of work. It also can be faster than your connection allows if the two servers you are transferring to and from are fast enough. Now the idea is probably looking quite prospective to you, so read on to find out how to FXP.

but...errm what is fxp ing ?? It's apparently NOT downloading (" transferring files from one server to another without actually acquiring the files yourself. ") ??!

A stupid-proof explanation would be welcome....

It is where you send a file from a server to another server. Simple as that. However you have to be loged into both servers at once. The FXP protocol sets up a tunnel between each FTP that you are loged onto and allows direct sending of files between them, this neglects your own internet conenction and thus allows you to send files from 100mbit lines to other 100mbit lines at 11mb/s due to the fact your line is not used other than to set up the connections.

To fastly transfer illegal software from one pc to another (100mbit to 100mbit)
It can then be used for racing. Racing just a game of who is releasing the stuff the fastest.
that is what its mostly used for.

Might be another group also, just because the nick is "JTPFXP" doesn't mean it's necesarilly them. There are hundres of FXP groups out there, im sure there are groups that have the same name...there are probably 12 A-FXP, or thirty 31337-FXP teams out there :P

Anyway, hope this all works out.
