Hello,

I am looking for a software (like arcserver, veritas) but then for linux (debian). Its got to be free. What do U guys advise.?

Additional info:
Its importand that I can scedual the backup (overnight), I backup an mysql database (mysql datafolder)(database is running).
I backup to an Win2000 server (no tape). The backup is like 1 gig every night.

For this I like an nice N00b gui ! (Not to much thinking on this one, its for work !)
I am thinking in a line of this http://www.storix.com/screens.html# but free. I am allergic to purchase buttons.

Thanx for the advise.

ps: I googled but i want info from the field.

When I had to make dially backups, I used to use a command line script from a friend of mine but I dont have it anymore.

Here you can find plenty of them:

What about a raid1 array... You could go with a software or hardware aray. Conceavably you could just pick up another HD and use a software raid1 array. Thats pretty cheap, i guess it depends on why you want hte backup.

I know people that do this kind of stuff with a simple shell script, I suggest powerful perl.

Peace
