another one ...

// launch a local cmd.exe (not bound to the net)...
// GDI+ buffer overrun exploit by FoToZ
// NB: the headers here are only sample headers taken from a .JPG file,
// with the FF FE 00 01 inserted in header1.
// Sample shellcode is provided
// You can put approx. 2500 bytes of shellcode...who needs that much anyway
// Tested on an unpatched WinXP SP1

So let me get this straight, you push the shellcode from, say, metasploit into this and you can get a reverse connect command shell? sheesh.

Heise Security(a german group) examines a JPEG picture, which brings also on completely patchted systems the Internet Explorer to the crash.

The error arises however only in Microsofts Web Browser, other applications concerned by the original JPEG safety gap seems in this case to be not endangered.

First results point on a problem with the processing of the SOS-Tags in JPGs.

has this been patched by M$ yet? I tried the Fotoz .exe posted and loaded the generated jpeg into IE on sp2, and nothing happened...
