Have you heard of Mozilla Firefox, as that is the upcoming browser and is taking the edge over IE. Though it has a small in number, but winning because of security holes in IE.

The Mozilla Foundation, which develops both the Mozilla and Firefox browsers and their underlying Gecko browsing engine, has noted that downloads of the Firefox browser have doubled from 3 million for version 0.8 to 6 million for version 0.9. The group said that almost 160,000 people have downloaded the latest version of Firefox, the 1.0 release candidate.

Internet Explorer (IE) use has dropped 1.8 percent in the last three months, according to new data gathered by WebSideStory, a San Diego-based provider of Web metrics. Although IE still dominates the browser business, its current 93.7 share is off from a June high of 95.5 percent. more>>

I tried it as well. Like the features it comes with, but had to give it up because it wasn't supported by an application at "work." I imagine this will change as well as the application matures. Looking very forward to that day. :D

There are those who talk about it and those who do it. Which are you?

I downloaded it last week to my home computer and to my computer at work. I haven't had any problems with applications at work. I guess I got lucky. ;)

Firefox is THE best browser without a doubt. Some fantastic plugins! Found the 'Web Developer' plugin REALLY useful. Shows you loads of information about a webpage, giving you options to remove images off a page, convert GET to POSTS and vice versa. Its an absolute must for any serious web developer.

few months ago i still used IE, had loads of problems with it, then someone adviced me to use firefox, and so i did, and gone were all my problems :)

IE just sucks like shit, believe me, when you have used firefox, you don't want anything else anymore :)

and the greatest feature is imho the "tabs" feature, so you don't have ten webpages opened

All I can say abour people whining over IE is, get real or get more knowledge.
I've used IE for as long as I can remember, and I havn't got any problems whatsoever. I havnt had any problems at all with anything, being a developer and all.

Although, perhaps it's not IE's fault, might it be your own, not knowing wtf you're doing?

What do I know.. Sure, Firefox is better, but IE aint crap, it works if the user at the computer know what the fkk he's doing =)

G'night. Getting late, been out all night =O

but when you have luxury of choosing browsers, you can choose better one. Some pages are not rendered properly in firefox, so you have to use ie, and thats the so called lock-in, on which m$ counted for penetrating browser market.

But you have to admit that ie is full of bugs and security issuses.

And one more imporatant thing. M$ is offering $250 000 for writers of worms and viruses that exploit their badly written code, and Mozilla is offering $500 for every security issus found in FireFox...

Now, which seems more fair by your opinion?
