Great bot matie. It has worked wonerfully so far. One problem that has come about. McAfee now finds it. I tried w/o packing it, packing it, w/o packing and morphine, and with packing and morphine. Just thought Id share.

!type already exist =) its !cat [file]
aww couldn't find it in the readme.. but now I searched for !cat I found it.. thnx =D... I guess I just went to fast and didn't think that it would be something like CAT.. =X
[EDIT] ALso.. when the irc server is down or the BOT can't connect for some reason it tries to reconnect.. which is great.. bur when you check task manager ( I did on a 450 Mhz) it shows 80/90% CPU load .. which will make the people suspicious about the running application.. maybe something like this will help.. reconnect after 15 seconds or something? [EDIT2]Found out this CPU load also occurs when the internet connection isn't working properly or if there isn't an internet connection

As for as everyone is concerned you havn't coded a thing, hence you have no business criticizing other people's code. Warning points added. what are you talking about, visual basic is a great application and its resources can be used for basically anything. just because YOU never took the time to use it for intricate sockets or 'bot' (i dont even think vb has a bot feature), doesnt mean it lacks that...
read before you post a comment in which you have no proof.

M8 liste visual basic can do almost all as c++ hte only bad thing is it needs runtymes!!
M8 i can even make exe inject in a proces like iexsplorer m8,you dont belive me then wait untill i release my downloader.
If you use cool errorhandler its also wery stabile and easy to learn!! Offcourse i admit c++ and delphi and masm are much beter that visual basic-BUT NOT SO MUCH AS PEOPLE THINK M8!!trust me on this one...
And another thing it isnt inportant in what language brainbuster coded the bot the effort is inportant and he shore puted alot of it into that bot,so dont act like an unmature 15 old kid ,please.

hi... So here is the first version with a real spreader =) It's not yet perfect. See it as a 1.4 beta .. better update will come in a few days... after i heard some feedback =D
part of readme:
QUOTE
=========== Changes in update to 1.4::
-An sql spreader is included now -personalmessage-mode is now optional
comments to sql spreader: U have to specify a FTP server in the editor and the name of the brainbot server. this server executable will be spread by all ur bots to other sql weak pw servers. U can specify a network. in this network (for example 217) the bot will scan random ranges for sql weak pws. ===========
I want to point out a special part of the readme at this point:
QUOTE
=========== I'm not responsible for anything you do with this. It's not ment and coded for using it in real life practice. ITS YOUR FAULT, if u use this for any illegal purpose ===========
u find new versions and stuff at www.brainbot.de.vu everytime

Every language has it's applications, it's not really fair to label a language "leet".
Java: Some pros:
-High portablity
-Can stick in a web page.
Some cons:
-Has to run through an interpreter, slowing it down in some cases.
My biased cons:
-Too object orientated, this is a good thing to some people.
Best application: Web application.
Visual basic: Pros: -Easy to use
-Points out and autocorrects errors while writing
-Very fast to set up and code a GUI application.
Cons: -One of the slower languages, alot of overhead.
-Can be buggy, stuff that should work doesn't.
- Some lower level coding is possible, not easily. It is harder to do in vb though and usually means importing dlls. This means you need to know how to write a dll, usually ina nother language like C.
My biased cons: It's by microsoft
Best application: GUI applications for windows systems that don't require too much speed. Best used when you need a quick GUI app in a short amount of time. Another good appplication are interfaces, either remote or local. In some cases it can be a decent server but it's not recommended (I myself have coded vb servers).
C:
Pros: -A fast language, unless compared to assembly. Slightly faster than c++.
- Low level coding can be integrated easily
- The error checking is not as strict as c++. This allows you more flexibility. Pointer magic.
Cons:
- The error checking is not as strict as c++. This can lead to problems in some cases. Only ignore warnings on stuff you did on purpose to accomplish pointer magic and similiar tricks.
- Most coding is done with pointers. Now I assume your not a perfect coder. Try chasing down a null pointer that appears out of nowhere in a huge application. It is not always easy.
Best application: Servers, fast apps. Console programming is the easiest to do.
C++:
Pros:
- Low level coding can be integrated easily
-More strict error checking than C
-Supports classes and Object orientated programming (C does to a point with structs).
Cons:
-More strict error checking than C, can get in the way sometimes.
Best application: Same as c, however GUI is easier. Also you can use classes and object orientate everything. This makes your life easier in some cases
Assembly:
Pros:
- Very fast application.
- Can do alot of stuff.
-Things can be dissasembled and edited
Cons:
- Takes a LONG time to code complex apps.
- Debugging a assembly program is a HUGE pain. Even worse than chasing down NULL pointers.
- Harder for coders after you to take up the project. Must document everything for a understanding to occur.
Best application: When speed is a neccesity. Debugging apps. Reverse engineering.
PHP:
Pros:
- Easily integrated into web pages, the server interprets it before it's displayed so it's serverside.
- Not that hard to work with.
Cons:
- Not a fast language.
- Doesn't support alot of types of programming.
- Variables aren't specifically declared. You can't tell it to be an int or a char. It's just $var.
- Some other ones I can't think off the top of my head right now.
Best application: Alot of forms of dynamic web content. Some types of web games, password protection, forums.
................................................................... Now I am not going to go through all the languages, but you get the idea.
I don't know if you know assembly, but you really think it would be fair for me to say that replacing c++ with assembly because I happen to know a little assembly? No, it wouldn't be.

Good point gman, each langauge has its own uses and its own problems. Another benefit of c/c++ that I'd like to point out is that you're able to integrate raw inline asm code. Basically that allows the best of both worlds.
Another thing that I'd like to add is a very nice feature of VS .net 2003. It allows the compiler to generate a seperate file with asm code. What this allows is coding a program in C but then optimizing the asm code thats generating and then compiling it with an assembler.
But yeah basically you make sacrifices when coding in various langauges over other languages and honestly you're limiting yourself if you stubbornly stick to only one langauge and one style of programming.

Whenever I start the server from your newest build I get a Run-time error 5. Invalid procedure call or argument. The window is called Project1. The bot still comes up in the channel, its just not very stealth, with the vb window coming up.
One other change might be to get their external and internal IP with the !ip command. Right now it only shows me their LAN ip.
