Full Version: Program Like Sockscap
Does anybody know of another program that does what sockscap does? Somehow I damaged some system settings that prevent sockscap from working properly. And it did work well for over a year till about a few days ago. Since everything else on my system works fine...I'd rather not reformat just to get sockscap working. So if theres another program that pipes programs through a proxy I wanna give it a try.

I would have done a system repair , setting back the registry a few days would probebly have solved it.
But here : Hummingbird Connectivity V8.0
that app is a bit more advanced tho, and might not be as handy because of that.

I did do system restore but since my hd isn't that big it only goes back a week and didn't fix the problem.

there is Proxycap i dont know if its like the Sockcap
but it uses HTTP Porxy's

sockschain is also supposed to be good, but never used it myself
anyone have problems with sockscap saying its working but when you netstat the remote comp your real shit shows up?
Merchantp all the dang time lol. settings are configured correctly and the proxy works outside of sockscap but my stuff still shows so i gave up on sockscap :S

checked the FreeCap...
the program got SOCKSChain.
the program works well on IE , SQLEXEC works greats
some loading programs with FlashFXP
the program add FreeCap to the program title name it using..

if i'm not mistaken, the transparancy mean that your ip is visible to the server.
Thanks for all of the suggestions people..after trying all of these apps I found that Proxycap was the only one that worked for me. Donno..why but something in my system prevented any of the other progs from tunneling applications through a proxy. So proxycap was great..appreciate the suggestion The Doom Master

it is also used as "transparent proxy" when you do not need to enter proxy ip and port in your browser for example

XP seemed to have a big problem when i ran sockscap.
