Full Version: Gaining System Rights On Windows 2000
Here's another pdf tutorial by dr0zaxx. Please enjoy.
not to mention for Windows XP too
good tutorial, thx :-)
Nice trick.... But if you have enough rights to write in %windir%\system32 and stop a service, you might be easier off using the at service:
At 14:26 a new shell will pop up with SYSTEM rights. This happens because the at service runs as system.
thx for this tutoria, nice way to get system rights
76 downloads and just 4 replies, that sucks
Great Tut mate Thanx ....
Will use it next time...
lol nice one, both of you
funny how easy it seems
you can't start/stop services without admin rights, netiher you can write in system32 ...
so no admin rights with default policies
on certain settings you may. it will work for most computers as administrators will likely to forget to secure the settings
thanks for that tutorial.i read it and it is very interesting.i also like the style it is written in.go on an supply us with more stuff and your membership will be near
Nice. Thats a really easy way to be able to run programs your not supposed to. As you say, not evry system run the PowerOff service. My computer doesn't. You have to find another service that also runs under admin rights. I don't know which ones that does that though.
nice tutorial
This works great. I tried it at a local internet cafe and it worked perfect. Thnx alot

Gonna try to read it when I get some more time... RL has been pretty busy lately... :/ I've always wondered about gaining system privilidges on a remote box.... Zyne
lets see whats that all about
thanks
nice tut ;) tkz good work
Thx to share
Thanks for this tutorials
Me thanks too But I agree with dmg about at command
thanks for the tutorial!!!
Good tut, going to check it out monday at school, to see if services.msc is blocked. Im thinking it is, but if it isnt, thanks.
Hey guys,
What I found helpful is that if the 2000 or XP box is running FAT32 filesystem (or anything but NTFS) then you can use a 98 bootdisk and boot into command prompt, from there you delete the SAM file in C:\winnt\system32\config. ----------------------------------------------------- C:\winnt\system32\config> del SAM 1 File Deleted ----------------------------------------------------- Reboot and log in as "Administrator" with a BLANK pw. Windows automatically created a new SAM file with a blank Administrator PW. WARNING: Doing this will erase all other usernames for that computer, but if its not your comp then theres no need to worry :D
wow! never heard of this bug...
but wouldn't it be possible to run a different program instead of internet explorer? that sounds like a stupid thing that IE is the only program... edit- level10, welcome to the board, and stuff with the SAM file is discussed alot around here
very easy to understand.. nice one m8
Serhat
