You dare to build a data cluster when you don't even know how to express yourself in a proper way?

To be honest, I think you are damn impolite. Seriously, you can't ask a question with spelling and grammar like that. As well your post lacks detailed information about what you really want to do.

I am not starting a flame war, I just stated the facts.

About your question:
What OS's?
What hardware shall be used/is available/money can be spend?
For what purpose?
What's the exact aim of that project?

You shouldn't try to state things simple in the internet, it will be followed by simple answers wink.gif - take your time writing what you really have in mind. Thanks.

Are you trying to make it so that say you send data to one master server, it will split it up into small pieces on the fly and send each one to a different computer? I was thinking of this not too long ago! (not necessarily if one goes down) but wouldn't it be great? If you have at home a network of computers and your brother and sister say have like 40gB free each, and you have 40, you could make a 120gB raid that will work just like local because over 100mBit you won't see any latency =D I may discuss this with dark0n3 to see the feasability...
