Hi all

Yesterday on, my mplayer2.exe is behaving misteriously. When i try to preview my media files in the Explorer or try to open a media file with mplayer2.exe
nothing seems to happen. if i check in the taskmanager...initially i find one instance of mplayer2.exe....and in a couple of seconds there is one more instance making total two mplayer2.exe in my taskmanager.

///also noticed that mplayer2.exe was being automatically spawned.

though there are instances in the taskmanager the media file wouldnt open up.

is this some virus....how can i rectify this....


///also wanted to add that mplayer2.exe was spawned under svchost.exe.
///when i kill svchost.exe using process explorer from sysinternals....the mplayer2.exe ///will not spawn again.

u got infected by a http script , all they do is download and replace ur old .exe this is useually a botnet then every time u try run windows media player it runs the script, if u could post ur wmplayer2.exe here i will hex it for you and find out who infected you
