Cool, but I have found the best way is to do some research find and remove it manually. It is the best way to learn how these things really affect your system and how you can better defend against it. File mod IDS like Tripwire, a bit of snort a decent Firewall and a couple of AV.

I run panda platnium on one of my boxes (got it free when they were dangling out that "free for life" deal), but can't say I like it much. Not intuitive and just doesn't work as well as I like. Just had to reinstall as the firewall wouldn't run.

But it DOES catch the SC-keylogger, which impressed me (not that this logger is any better than any other). So far, I've only found that Avast, Norton, Panda, and Antivir catches it. Trend Micro does not, which is very disappointing (it did catch one other keylogger, but don't remember which).

I don't particularly like avast either. The GUI is horrible IMHO and stuff is too hard to find. It does seem to have more features that other free antivirus. And Avast installs and updates FAST!

(of course, loggers exists that don't even use sockets, so no AV will catch them).

it destroyed avg and made its dial up connection unstable
