Full Version: Network Transfer Limit And Then Timeout
I have a network with 8 pc's.. all they have running serv-u on port 65000 but when i transfer from pc to pc all pc's will get a connection time-out on all ports.. that will happens if i transfer 3gb of 4gb.. is there a way to manage this transfer limit.. because now port 65000 is fully timed out . i think it's disabled somewhere but where to config all these settings (in te domain controller?) no ports are filtered on the tcp/ip filtering at network connections so that's not the problem i think
It sounds more like collisions. are you using a hub?

The Hub shouldn't be the problem I think, even though it braodcasts all traffic to all connections and not like a switch to the one its supposed to go to.
Getting a connection timeout on all ports more likely sounds like some sort of DoS or something alike. I have a simillar probelm which results because of my NAT router doesn't allow more than a given number of connections from one IP to various IPs due to security reasons. This happens when you, for example, ping all Quake Servers online, etc.
If you are running a firewall or something on all PCs this might be the problem.
I don't know if this helps at all, but this is my thought about this topic

While taht is true for some routers, it is an internal network that is timing out. And on top of that, its only a single connection from 1 ip to another ip. I still think its the size of the collision domain with a router (linksys) or hub that locks up. Linksys routers are notorious for locking up when too much traffic goes continuosly. Especially version 1 of the 4 port/wireless switch one.

Point taken.
Since we're talking about LAN here :-D Is it possible that the Hub went FUBAR? Haven't seen that so far, if they break they usually just stop working.My suggestion is: Get a ub/Switch from a friend and see if it resolves the problem.
