Full Version: A Nice Prog To Find A Boxes Uptime...
very small..

Thanks. Always handy those little apps.
kind of weak for being 44kb... i made the same in 960 bytes mines a msgbox but i could make it be commandline also... let me know if i should
nice 1
ohh nice thanks
Yes, can you make it into command line form since this tools' main purpose is for remote use.
: ) ^
btw: how do you modify the uptime?
I swear LanGuard from gfi lets you check a remote system uptime. Correct me if im wrong
FiStEh
yes, lan guard can do this, but only when netbios etc (TCP 135 - 139) (file and printer share) is activated as far i know.
YES U R RIGHT...
IT WILL WORK IN ABOUT 40 % OF THE CASES... THIS TOOL ALWAYS WORKS !
nice one illwill...I like my toolkits to be as small as possible.
i fixed the code try using the new one so you can get the days instead of a shitload of hours
thanx illwill handy little tool and so much smaller then the one i had which was 45kb
SkitZZ
HAHA do u think lying about the uptime makes u a better person .. able to brag to friends?
I havent tried illwills, but the MS uptime.exe reads from the event logs for all event pertaining to boot up/shutdown. So if you hibernate the computer rather than shut it down, it will see it as being on even while it hibernates since it doesnt get entered into the log as a shutdown and when it starts back up it is a resume, not initial boot of windows.
There is two build in possibility for the uptime of a box :
use systeminfo build in command on winxp or see the date and hour of the pagefile.sys on c:\ See ya,
nice one as long as its command line i dont really care if its 2.5 kb or 1.2 kb or 960 bytes , doesnt matter really
well never used it but the last one is cool
thanks illwill for da works (little is better
I need to restart some box and keep the uptime so the admin won't notice.
doesnt work Whats wrong ?
it should work... try it with 2 >>
have some too if someone is interested
I tested "CMD Uptime 1.0 - by: illwill" but my firewall ask me if this program can access to internet? what's the need to connect to internet? (It works even if i don't allow this proggy to go to internet).
That's an usefull tool Thx
'net statistics server' also works ... i didn't know about checking the timestamp of the c:\pagefile.sys C:\>net statistics server Server Statistics for \\PWSOC2K Statistics since 12/15/2003 12:28 AM or c:\>dir /ah c:\ ... 12/15/2003 12:28a 201,326,592 pagefile.sys ... who needs a third party app for that? of course you'd want to mix that with the 'date' and 'time' commands to offset any time zone differences.
thx 4 his small app
packed ?
thanks for the awesome tool.
gonna test it out
tnx! can use it.
Thankx dude nice work for the tool
lmao bring the uptime.txt back a space ...
this is obviously a Network tool... but what is the general pupose of using such a tool... to find out who is online & for how long??... what would you do ?... Upload it to a remote host and have it record a log file over a Period of 2 Weeks - a month , then ..... *Shrugs* Wkd.. .../ This is a "lo-fi" version of our main content.
